Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku was celebrating on Friday night as his long goal drought finally came to an end thanks to a brace for Belgium.
However, his first goal of two was definitely not the prettiest he’s ever s Lukaku scored twice in Belgium’s friendly international with Mexico which ended 3-3.
He went into the game having not scored since the previous international break. In that time he made seven appearances for Manchester United, leading to concerns at Old Trafford that the pressure of playing for such a big club could be too much.
He made the breakthrough in the 55th minute when he miss-controlled a cross from the right. Fortunately for Lukaku, the touch was so bad the ball went in the direction of the goal and beyond the reach of the Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa to make it 2-1 to Belgium.
The 24-year-old found time to score another, with his second coming in the 70th minute and levelling the scores at 3-3. It was a simple finish from inside the six-yard box.
Manchester United will hope he can carry his rediscovered eye for goal into the Premier League when it resumes next weekend
